Saigyo Kaden

Many collections of Saigyo's poems have been published, but novels in which Saigyo is the main character are probably rare.
Saigyo is a representative poet of the late Heian period who has been selected for the most entries in the Shinkokin Wakashu.
``I hope that I will die in spring under the flowers, when the mochizuki is in full bloom'' is a song that seems to condense Saigyo's life. Beautifully drawn.
