[Song meeting/Waka class] (Ginza) “First time teaching ancient and modern teachings and Chayose Renka meeting” Uzuki no Kai

``Kokindenju and Chayose Renka'' is a casual poetry gathering in the form of a workshop where participants learn the basics of waka and then demonstrate it through renga play.
Whether you're a Japanese culture enthusiast or a beginner, anyone who likes waka and classical culture can enjoy it♪

■Contents of the meeting

In the first half of the meeting, we will learn the rules regarding waka. It is, so to speak, a modern-day ``Kokin transmission''!
Using the Kokin Wakashu as a text, students will learn representative songs and song words for each season, as well as the key points of rhetoric and grammar, which will be useful in creating poems.

(annual schedule)

→“Waka poetry spring/summer/fall/winter column
→“Introductory waka poetry class

In the second half of the meeting, we will finally take on the challenge of chanting.
However, it is very difficult to compose a tanka (31 characters) all of a sudden...
Therefore, everyone who participates in this meeting will enjoy ``renga.''

Renga is a game in which many people have to write down the upper and lower verses of a waka poem.
Since ancient times, renga has had detailed rules, but this renga society has added a dynamic arrangement.
Its name is “Zekkurenga”!

Renga is generally in the Kasen style (36 poems), and it takes about half a day to complete it. The two hours required for the main meeting will not make it in time.
That's where Zekku Renga comes in.
Zekku is a form of Chinese poetry consisting of four phrases: ``ki'', ``jo'', ``ten'', and ``kei''.
This perfectly follows the pattern in which a renga begins with the ``haku'', adds the ``waki'', and then changes at the ``third''.
Zekku renga is a bold and new form in which the fourth stanza is ``yui'', or renga, and ``kyoku'' completes the four stanzas.
Zekku renga is an easy way to enjoy renga, with the basic methods of attaching and changing the renga.

Just before the renga is played, I will serve you a hearty cup of tea.
Take this tea as a sign and focus on your literary skills. This is, so to speak, "immersive tea."
*Look forward to seeing what kind of tea will be served!
Now, everyone, let's enjoy the Sukiya song play to the fullest.
